The mayor of the commune Nowiny, Łukasz Gryń and the director of the Municipal Cultural Centre in Nowiny, Edyta Bobryk, warmly invite residents and guests to a unique event – National Reading. The meeting will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 16:00 in the GOK concert hall on the first floor.
This year's edition will be devoted to the work of Jan Kochanowski, one of the most prominent Polish poets, and at the same time the leading representative of the European Renaissance.
Jan Kochanowski's poetry delights with thematic and artistic wealth. The author addressed both serious and important issues, as well as light and witty. Kochanowski was able to combine humanistic religion with admiration for life, and at the same time with deep reflection on the passing and fate of man. His work has played a huge role in the development of the Polish literary language and still remains a source of inspiration.
